Ian says ….. Today we started off going separate ways – Pauline had things to do at the lodge, David was happy with the Crestie shots he got yesterday so opted for Snow Buntings at the main Cairngorm car park while I wanted another session with the Cresties having failed miserably yesterday. The birds were a bit slow starting off and the Crestie made only fleeting visits. Pauline turned up about 10.30ish and from then on our target birds made numerous visits to our set up and when the light was strong enough we enjoyed some good photography. We had agreed to join David later so when he sent us a message saying that he was up with the Snow Buntings we decided it was high time to drag ourselves away from the Cresties and up the Cairngorm. The Snow Buntings were coming to the food David had put out and as it kept trying to snow we sheltered behind the car and waited for them to arrive – take some shots - then take shelter again and check images on the back of the camera. In less than an hour we thought we had what we wanted so called it a day and returned to base to download and have a real check through today's shots.
Pauline says: ... Of all the things to happen - toothache set in for me yesterday and a 'trip' back home to my own dentist is the answer ... I'm going to need a holiday after all this!
