Thousands - probably millions of visitors from all over this country and abroad must have passed thro this hide and admired this view over the years........... I wonder what has been collectively seen from it over time?

Well gulls and ducks certainly! Maybe otters too very early on spring mornings........

Pauline say's: ....... 'This hide is only 5 mins in the car from our caravan pitch and I keep meaning to go there in the early dawn. I get up at or even before first light to switch the moth trap off and see if any interesting moths are outside the trap or on the side of the caravan, but I never seem to carry on and get in the car and arrive at the public hide! Next year I must do this as I suspect there will be a lot more to be seen early in the day'............

Freezing weather can be a good time time to see Bitterns from this hide - in prolonged frozen sunny conditions they sometimes come right out of the reeds and stand on the ice in full view - trying to get a bit of warmth before nightfall.........
