Ian says …… Today it was time to say good-by to David and to John and Shirley and thanks for such an ‘entertaining’ week ! Dave P. and Neil are staying for a couple more days – there are still things to photograph. Neil wanted to do a bit of river dipping, Pauline needed to catch up a bit with images leaving myself and Dave to have a nosey round locally. We started off checking the area around Boat of Garten – hoping to drop on a loch with a Slavonian Grebe – we can all hope can’t we ? – Herons, Swans, Widgeon, Tufted, Goldeneye and Little Grebe but no Slavs so it was off again towards Aviemore where we checked another small loch – still no Slavs – then a quick look at an even smaller loch were Ospreys are known to fish early mornings. With a table booked at the restaurant it was time to head back to find Neil in the kitchen with a table full of ‘pond life’ and the camera recording everything he had caught!
Pauline say's ..... A bit of a funny feeling day - a bit bereft with half the folks gone ... a bit like a punctured sleeping mattress - slowly going down ... Eventually Neil returned from his 'river dip' with a collection of stuff - the kitchen table was unset and re-laid out with trays of interesting pond life and the photography tank was soon on the go!
